So according to the art you can block a Bird of Paradise... value!

The Simic have the best creature types.
That said, this is a decent blocker, but if you can evolve it it gets better.

This guy is so value. He's already on curve for being a 1/3 reach for 3. Evolve him just once he becomes a giant spider that you only paid 3 mana for. I hope I get some of these for the prerelease.

so it's a giant spider if you have another creature in 1-2 turns and it costs 1 less... and can get larger... amazing in limited, solid in edh. decent reach creatures in green is super desirable. and you can still throw this in a gruul deck.

One of a few reach creatures in Gate Crash makes this guy a decent selection in limited, especially with the emphasis on evasion when making picks.

Waiting inside each of us in an Animal Spirit, wanting to be released.....

Billy, you are the Wolf,
swift! intelligent! and cunning

Aisha, you are the Bear!
Feirce, loyal, and Powerful

And Adam...

"I'm a Frog. :( "

"Yes, a Frog, like the one you kiss, to make a handsome prince :) "

"I'm a Frog LIZARD :O "

"Oh. Maybe you DO have a problem xD"

" :'( "

I'm sorry, the pose of this creature reminded me of the Frog Zord from the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie, so I thought to myself......

What if Adam was a
Frog LIZARD Ninja Power Ranger? :D
^Best. Creature Type. Ever.
(Croconura is a Crocodile, but imagining this scene using the Simic's Frog LIZARD tokens is...just so much more hilarious.)

Etymology: "anura" means "frog"
I really like this card. Creature types, art, abilities. It'll be useful for Simic.

You play one creature, any creature, with power of two or more, or a toughness of five or more on the turn after this, and it is a superior Giant Spider for Green less.

Limited with this set is a blast, and well-designed limited cards like this guy are the reason why.

It is a friggin' crocodile with a ranged grapple which connects directly with its mouth.

Suddenly, walking past a swamp you feel something tug your leg, tripping you up, face flat in the mud. The water surrounding your body before you're able to look back with your eyes cleared and see the gaping maw of this monstrosity, dragging you in. *crunch*

Strange creature type combination.

This thing is really what makes a good simic deck tick. The mortar that keeps it all together. Big enough to trigger some of the smaller evolvers, and small enough to easily become a giant spider, green draft workhorse extraordinary.

Oh god, there's a frog on the side of its face.

THERE'S A FROG ON THE SIDE OF ITS FACE!

Why didn't Wizards call this guy Frogodile?

Cruelly underrated.

Everything about this card is balanced and well-designed; it has the lopsided stats that Evolve creatures love, Reach for all of those Green decks, and it's a Common so Pauper and Limited can both enjoy using it to its full potential.

It's worth noting that this guy evolves Renegade Krasis and is evolved by him, so it doesn't matter which one enters the battlefield first. It's options like that that make a deck consistent.

Come on, Wizards. Why would you not make this a spider? When will spiders be shown the love they deserve?
