Good for their time, though the later search-lands surpass this.

While clearly sub par to later fetch lands these are still effect in casual play.

Like a fetch land except you don't have to pay that 1 life but coming into play tapped hurts.

Amulet of vigor and these puppies would be better than the fetch lands.

I don't think people quite understand how good these lands are, especially in a budget deck. I know that i'd much prefer this to Terramorphic expanse in a U/B deck, as you get the land untapped and it's not like you got to use it right away with the Expanse anyway.

Some of the finer moments in blue-black-dual-land-naming history:
Clearly much worse than Polluted Delta, and much slower than the rest (usually), however for budget players, this card is still useful. Plus I imagine it would be useful in EDH/Commander.

@SirZapdos: You forgot: Underground Sea - $80 for a beat up one.

I think this card gets a bad rep because it's outclassed by Polluted Delta. Sure it's strictly worse, but Drowned Catacomb is strictly worse than Underground Sea and look at how well IT'S doing. Bad river can STILL search out Ravnica and Revised Dual Lands and have them come in untapped (assuming you pay the 2 life for the Ravnica land of course) and all I have to do is wait a turn. Just because Polluted Delta is used over this in competitive play it doesn't mean the MUCH MUCH cheaper version is completely useless. I'd give it a solid 3.75/5 for yes, coming in tapped, but still getting the job done in the Dual Lands department.

I would like to see a reprint of this in the new border. These are fine for EDH.

@WarioMan: Please remember what "strictly worse" is supposed to mean. If this one ALSO forced you to pay 1 life, THEN you'd be able to say "strictly".
"Worse" (usually; what happens if you're actually AT 1 life?), I can understand. But not "strictly worse"...

It doesn't enable turn-1 kills the way the more expensive fetch-lands do, but that's no reason to give it a poor rating. Although it is -1 land advantage the turn it comes into play, it has no such disadvantage on subsequent turns.

This card is basically just a reverse terramorphic expanse for blue and black only not that bad
