This guy seems very pump-able in a black/blue deck.. especially with sorcery like dark ritual

This guy is kinda cute, an Aven shade. Probably better than, say, Crypt Ripper in a UB deck. Shades are always fun in casual, though obviously having to play blue at all weakens them somewhat.
Bird has obvious blue support, but i could not, for the life of me, find B or U support for soldiers. Except for the tri-color WGU cards...
So, i am very confused by this card.

This is not actually too bad of a card. The fact that it has some evasion/defensive flight to go with the pump ability makes it good for its role, provided you have some to pump it up. A solid pick in limited if drafting those colors, which also feature removal and bounce to get any flyers that an opponent is able to stick, out of play so you can swing.
