I like the fact the rats kill themselves upon activation, cute design touch, but either the mana cost is too high or the ability costs are.

How about giving this guy infect? Yes sir'ee ma'am!

Costly activation compared to similar effects (Gangrenous Zombies comes to mind), but also potentially a board wipe with Basilisk Collar. Heck, you even get life back.

Other fun stuff you can do with this:

- Mask of Law and Grace granting it protection from its own ability, for repeated Pestilence. Also Crown of Awe to protect your other creatures, or Strength of Isolation if playing a Madness deck.

- Let it die to set up a Tragic Slip and other Morbid spells.

- Enchant with Spirit Mantle to protect it from its own abilities.
