This is a truly awful card. Don't let it fool you.

Why would you even want Forestwalk? Swinging in for 2 unblockable damage against Green isn't exactly what people look for in a card.

Volcre has a valid point. The artwork is still the best part of this card.
A 5/5 legend for seven mana which can play Phantom Warrior against green for further three mana isn't quite what i'm looking for.

I like him cause:
- he's one of the old 'powerful creatures' that lacked a draw back
- The artwork naturally

He's in your forests, killing your planeswalkers.

One of 3 non-green forestwalkers.

This card is trash. That's it.

My group frequently calls it "Wacko Jacko", (apologies to the MJ fans out there, but I didn't really care for the guy).
7 for a vanilla 5/5, or 10 for a 2/5 Forestwalker.

This is easily in my top 20 list of worst creatures EVER. Definitely near the top.
Why? Because he was "rare".

It's so bad that Keeper of Tresserhorn is better as long as your opponent doesn't have anything bigger than a 5/5 on the table. That pretty much says it all.

I really wish they'd done an alternate version of this guy in TS block.

Dralnu? Ib Halfheart? Saffi Eriksdotter?! Oh, just sod off then.

A card so bad that it makes me want to build a deck around it. A horrible card, but interesting nonetheless.

I had to give it two stars for the artwork alone, don't shoot me. :(

Holy crap, a 2/5 forestwalk for 10 mana?

Yeah this card is pretty shi*tty. Like seriously.

To put it simply, there is nothing good about this card. Did Wizards honestly think that people would want cards that sucked this badly? I feel so sorry for all of those poor Magic players who were stuck playing Homelands. So tragic...

wow - I even collected Homelands when it came out, and never saw this card.

Really - would a 5/5 rare Forestwalking Legend for 7 mana have been SO bad?
They had Nightmare and Shivan Dragon back then to compare to - it really doesn't make sense why they underpowered Homelands SO much back then.

Wow, even by old card standards, this sux. Forestwalking for 2 damage... ^^. Art is nice though.

Why are you saying he's 10 mana for 2/5 forestwalker? He doesn't have haste, so it's 7 mana 5/5 who can become 2/5 foreswalker for 3.

I wonder if this ever saw any play? He strikes me as horribly over-costed but I can at least see that he could at least do something. So not a completely useless piece of cardboard like break open, but still overall you would not play him today.

Accurate flavor text.... yeesh!

No idea how this pile of drek ended up being printed next to Ishan's Shade. If he cost 6 and had forestwalk all the time for free, he would have at least been of appropriate power for that era. I would have even forgiven a casting cost of 7, which would still have been weak, but black had almost no big creatures back then without drawbacks. But a cost of 7 AND an activation cost that makes it hard for him to be a threat - what were they thinking?!

If you squint a bit, he might fit into your pirates vs. ninjas theme deck...

This is the kind of card that I would gladly send back to Wizards for a remake of. I wouldn't even care that it was freshly printed. Keep the artwork and make him cost 2BlackBlack for a 4/3 Forestwalk creature with Black: +1/+0 until end of turn ~You may spend no more than BlackBlackBlack per turn on this ability. I think that this casting cost and body would be very fair for a niche legend.
The flavor is that when he sneaks up on you in the forest he does very cruel things depending upon his resources. And naturally, his base body shouldn't be tougher than the Baron.

1.5/5 the one is for the art, the .5 is for the fact that it's so horrible its funny

Ever notice how it is so much more fun to read about awful cards than good ones. I refused to play this piece of crap based on the artwork alone. Only thing I LOVE about Homelands, is the warm fuzzy nostalgia I get from it...

honestly, it could be plus 3 and walk and it still would suck, even if it didn't have a use per turn restriction...

I've noticed that this set has guys from Sengir who aren't vampires. I wonder what the explanation for that is.
