Seems like this should have been blue. But its a good way to hold off any combo's, quick kills, or otherwise annoying interference your opponent might play for a turn.

use it on yourself if you get it when you draw the 7 cards from memory jar...
that way you keep all the cards.
i would like to add.. this is too funny in a dark ritual deck. you can stunt your opponent a good amount doing that on turn 1. it is like he/she temporarily mulliganed down to nothing.

First turn, dark ritual into this.
Their first turn, they draw, and unless its a land, they don't do anything, then they get their hand back and have to discard down to 7.
Also fun when played during your opponent's upkeep with Vedalken Orrery. And you can still Stifle it when it tries to return their cards after a whole two turns!

hey look, a black Timetwister. how nice. I can use it to get a super giant hand later, or i can use it to temporarily screw your hand to bits right now. win-win.
SERIOUSLY, Wizards? no, I guess Memory Jar WASN'T enough after all...
of course, this is 'strictly' worse than those, but 'similar, but strictly worse' than Timetwister or Memory Jar is still probably not a good thing for the game.

Used by blue decks extensively to lock an opponent's hand while giving you free reign without needing to worry about countering spells.
Its very similar to Timetwister, except you don't actually draw anything new, and you only get your hand back on the end of your 2nd turn. This gives you 2 free turns, if you casted this on the opponent.

Can't believe this is just rated a 3. You'll note their hand comes back not at the beginning of the end step, but at the beginning of their next end step. Essentially, a black Time Walk if played at the right time.

I thought of putting this a discard deck but realized it would have a very strange place in the deck, I found a few cards it goes great with though, try it with Guul Draz Specter , Nyxathid and Quest for the nihil stone
The artwork is excellent also!
This card could also strangely be used in some type of black werewolf deck if you're feeling creative

One of the most underrated cards on Gatherer. It's almost like a black time walk with so many options for abuse. God I want so badly to stifle the triggered hand return.

This is a funny card - I love it. What can I say, all the good points have been stated already.
From T1 Dark Ritualing to play this on your opponent, to combining this with means that let you copy this card to mess with your opponent, to using it like a black Timetwister. I definitely think it's more than a mere 3 stars - maybe not a 5 stars, but in its own right very useful and annoying. The troll in me is squee'n with joy. :D
