This card may seem terrible, but try pairing it with Life from the Loam and Manabond. The result is you can't be damaged by anything outside of instants (you won't even need to pay the upkeep once), and you can still make attacks provided you replay this land after combat. Not too shabby in that context...

A game-ender for my "Killing Gentleman" deck. Part of a combo that leaves me untouchable indefinitely, until I pull out my winning combo. Which happens whenever this hits the field...and the life-loss is not a problem by then. Good ol' Red Sleeves...<3
Sun Titan alleviates the Cumulative Upkeep by allowing you to sacrifice it without paying the cost and snaps it right back, stopping your opponent from hurting you. Knight of the Reliquary gets buffed off the sacrificed lands and will be able to attack. (It can also tutor for the chasm)
Neither an infinite combo nor a hard lock, but it can likely win games.

A decent card to throw in a Chronatog/Stasis/Kismet deck, protecting you from Fireblasts.

Have not yet actually played with this card, but it seems like, added to Maze of Ith, a poor-man's Moat :)
