Long forgotten, very powerful card. Compare it to cursed scroll and you'll see why. You don't get to keep the card sure, but as long as you're willing to discard it's not a problem.

It's a kindle, all the time, forever!

Potentially very abusive with Fiery Temper and friends.

And so I go, off to another Random Card.

THis used to be wonderful card, now with madness this is the tops.

And it definately don't bother that this has one of the most beautiful arts.

Fun with Squee, Goblin Stormbomb.

Used to be a even more fun, before Survival of the Fittest got banned.

The key thing you guys seem to be missing is "at random". Still, you could abuse it after your hand is unloaded, but most of the time this is just turning something in your hand into a mana shock.

With Storm Cauldron, turns your land in play into shocks as well.

This card did something fundamentally different to the game - it transformed the cards in your hand into a resource that could be exploited. Rather than just viewing them as spells and lands, they were now inconsequential ammo that you could just trade for damage. At instant speed, and spending colorless mana to activate, suddenly Wheel of Fortune meant : restock your ammo. As long as you had the mana, even late-game Mountains were now an expendable source of damage. This provided red with a way to break combat stalemates, and a way of getting damage in even when it was drawing only lands and junk.

Perhaps the most Palpatinian card from the early days. Shocking your opponent over and over again.
