Really atrociously bad card with really amazingly funny art. Phil Folgio is amazing for funny cards.

WHY is this card rated so low? Amazing art and flavor, 5/5.

I have to agree with OmnicromXR. Pretty useless card, awesome artwork.
Some may not like this artwork, and i normally don't want comic strips on my magic cards either, but Foligo's drawing style still suits to Magic in my opinion nonetheless. Maybe his artwork should rather find use on cards from Un-sets, though.

Why does everyone hate on banding? Banding allows the group to "borrow" damage prevention abilities from the other members of the group. I love Banding though I prefer Baton of Morale over this card.

Like just about every banding creature in the game, this just has too high a cost. At 1W, this wouldn't be too bad a spell, even playable. At W, this would be a great spell.

CC is too high, but overall a decent concept and one of the best pieces of artwork in Magic... period.

Fun artwork indeed. At first I thought it was a un-card. Still, banding was an under-developped mechanic.

This card actually has a flavour-text partner in Elvish Healer. Again, when I was just a new player and I first realized that two different Ice Age cards had nearly identical flavour texts, I was puzzled at first. Once I realized that they depict mutual distrust between the elves and humans, and the slightly changed flavour text on each is supposed to highlight that, I was thrilled at having found a connection!

It's funny stumbling across it in Gatherer now, as it made me remember Elvish Healer almost immediately. Flavour text aside, the card seems unfortunately weak, but it has awesome Phil Foglio art to make up for it! Two stars from me for granting an unusual (and now rare) ability to any creature you like.

At this cost, it should let you draw a card.
Otherwise, make it cost less. Banding just isn't powerful enough to warrant this cost.

Banding was an amazingly good ability for white weenie, you lose one creature instead of multiple. How is controlling combat damage bad?

People here that bash banding haven't been playing with it. Banding is awesome ability and if you can give it to any creature that is superb.

This on the other hand is an aura and thus not very good idea. Use Batton of Morale or Helm of Chatzuk.

Bands seem like a great idea... until you're attacked by your everday flying hexproof indestructible unblockable double-striking trampler on Turn 3

The evil black dude is actually Helloween's Pumpkin mascot. ;)

I actually don't like most foglio artwork, but this one illustrates the card brilliantly and just brings a big grin to my face.

My OTP. Great artwork, cool flavour text connection with Elvish Healer.
Aaalso... if you look at the runes along the trim of the fella's cloak on the right, "P. FOGLIO" is hidden amongst them. Clever!

I'm patiently awaiting the return of Banding, and then this one's getting dusted off. Just you wait!
