Just makes you want to awkwardly look around and whisper to the nearest person "They know whales don't fly, right?". Not the most outlandish thing in Magic, true, but it stands out for some reason. For the cost though you'd think they could have just given it Flying period.

GradiusTheFox: that would have ruined the flavor. As you can see from the art, it gains flying temporarily by jumping out of the water.

I'm pretty sure that giving it straight-up flying would be a bit above the power curve, even by current standards. Seems like a nice card. I only wish more cards knew how to just "hop" a bit to snatch those Suntail Hawks out of the air.

Ever seen Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus? The plane scene, specifically? Anyways, there's not much that needs to be said about the playability of the card. I'd like to see the flavor text reflect its flying powers more than it already does.

For those commenting on its power curve,Sphinx of Last Truths has perma-flying and a wonderful CIP ability.
Still, this is about KILLER WHALES wrecking your opponent. Nothing could be greater. The only force known to singlehandly kill Storm Crows "until end of turn".

Flying seems appropriate. It can jump out of the water to block flying creatures, but at the same time it can jump out of the water and over creatures without flying or reach.
