I liked it better as an uncommon, and the old picture is a bit more pleasantly fantastical.

Huh. I actually didn't know that its appearance in Conflux was a reprint.

@metalevolence:

Cool story bro. How about a constructive comment, like suggesting Prophetic Prism as an alternative?

I don't see anywhere on Mana Cylix where it says "discard your entire hand", so I don't know where you're getting this run-on loop of card disadvantage. Perhaps you need therapy.

A simple, elegant mana fixer. Though it doesn't provide any mana, it does filter 1 to any color you need, which is critical in sets where there is so much multicolor going on.

I have no idea why this is rated so high.

It's the Goblet of Fire from Harry Potter!

@DrJack He is simply shoehorning "card disadvantage" into the flavor text. And, while the card does not say anything about discarding it *does* make card disadvantage. This card only fixes your mana, thus does not impact the game state. Thus you are spending a card to achieve nothing, basically discarding it when you could be doing something. While I don't agree that the card is useless (Metalvolence would be begging for one of these instead of the seventh forest in his White/Green/Blue deck) that the card is useless I do agree that it does not actually contribute to your position. So I see where he is coming from. About the card itself, sorta meh. As has allready been beaten-to-death the card only does work when you need to fix mana and I would rather just run dual lands or land search or mana dudes or whatever, depending on the deck. Still, it is not a terrible card. 2/5
