So at its best, its a 4/4 volver with trample and first strike that only cost five mana to play. Epic.

Degavolver is worse. Trample and first strike are two of the most useful abilities, and since you're playing green he should be easy to pump.
These would be a lot better if they had been printed now, especially since the main ability associated with each color has changed, as we saw with the Lorwyn demigod auras. Black would probably get Fear/Intimidate instead of that awful 3-life regeneration, red might get Haste or even Double Strike instead of First Strike, and blue would either keep flying or get shroud instead. Trample alone is a little weak for green, so maybe it would get an extra +1/+1 as well.

This is the only volver whose colors provide access to ~both~ enchantments that reward you each time you pay a kicker cost: Saproling Infestation + Rumbling Aftershocks! :) Unfortunately, two sapro tokens and some little pinging aren't the ~most~ powerful rewards, but together with a five-mana 4/4 creature with aggressive combat abilities it should be fine..

The comments show you the obnoxiousness people would like to see. One green for trample and +1/+1 is sufficient. First Strike and +2/+2 is well worth the cost. The issue keeping this card back is the fact it should either start with flying or cost only a blue.

Riku copies kicker costs. For an additional G/U, you can put another of this guy out, kicked with whatever you did on the original. URG pie ftw.

Interesting idea. I'm not sure {2}{R}{U}{G} is all that reasonable for a 4/4 trample first strike nowadays, but for its time I believe it probably was good.

Grows well, unlike some other Volvers, but its base stats are terrible and it really needs all of its upgrades to get going. Still, 4/4 Trample First Strike for isn't terrible.

Riku copies kicker for copied spells the copy ability is not a copying a spell and spell, it's copying a permanent. You would therefore be paying for a 4/4 first strike trample and a 1/1 with no abilities.

Riku's G/U ability wouldn't have anything to do with the kickers anyway. It would copy the creature on the board, but not the +1/+1 counters. So I believe it would be a 1/1 with trample and first strike (I'm not sure on this though).

Really should start costing only . 1/1 for is terrible, 2/2 trample for is under the curve for todays standards, 3/3 first strike for is decent, 4/4 trample first strike for is decent. There are better cards then this version, its really overpriced by mana for todays standards.
