Works for mixed color spells as well; such as Spiteful Visions, which is on curve with this.

If you design right you can have your mono-black deck benefit form this.

It would only decrease the cost by one. The way the card is worded, it would only check the color once. So if the spell is red, blue, or red AND blue, it is still only reduced by one. Check the wording on Grand Arbiter Augustin IV to see how cards would decrease the cost twice

My Grixis control casual deck runs 4 of these. Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker enjoys being cast for 4 mana when I have four familiars.
