@ Neutralion Wikipedia says: Part of the planeswalker Urza's plans to repel the inevitable Phyrexian Invasion involved the creation of a specially-bred army of soldiers. Dubbed the "Metathran" in honor of the long-lost Thran civilization, Urza's warriors were genetically engineered to be decisive, unerring and obedient, with superhuman combat skills and tactical awareness. Though the Thran themselves were primarily Caucasian, the Metathran had a distinctive light-blue hue and a tall, gangly appearance. They appeared male, but in fact had no gender, as they would have no need to breed. Most of the Metathran were designed to blindly follow orders, however, two generals had been specifically designed to act on their own. Thaddeus and Agnate had a symbiotic, near-telepathic connection to each other and depended on each other to function. Intended to fight the Phyrexian menace and nothing else, the Metathran were freely expendable, and none survived the war. "Metathran" was not originally a supported creature type in the game, but became one with the release of the 10th Edition Core Set in July 2007.

Take an overcosted vanilla and strap two bad abilities optionally to it and you get...blue's version of an otherwise great cycle

One small step for thran, one giant leap for metathran tribal.
Hey, dark banishing on a creature. Sure, a little expensive, but still cool.
I loved the battle mages... Them and the volvas.

Ouch.... 1) Without kickers is just a 2/2 for which is bad. 2) With just a white its a 2/2 for +3 life which is bad. 3) With black its a 2/2 for + destroy which is bad. 4) With ultimate its a 2/2 for +3 life + destroy which is bad.
Your really not going to want to preform options 1 or 2, unless your desperate. So you can hardly take those two options into account when rating this card. If you can get setup with a repeatable bounce and a ton of mana, sure you can destroy a creature every turn.... Or you can just play Visara the Dreadful, your call.
