strictly worse than wurm's tooth's lifegain. i'm sure there's a use for 1 drop artifacts that you really want to sac because they are just about useless.

Not, in fact, strictly worse than Wurm's Tooth It can be transmuted with a different spell, it can be Trinket Maged, and once played for only 1, it may turn out that extra mana helps you. Of course Wurm's Tooth is better, but not strictly better.
