From the looks of the art, she was originaly suposed to have a different ability. Granting flying?

I know the Foglios have teamed up on cards before, but this is the first time I've seen completely different artists credited.

Also, it's a little bizarre to see a cleric surrounded by birds and playful winged kittens when her ability involves ripping an ally in half and throwing the fiery remains at the enemy.

@longwinded

lol. maybe on turn five you can have Stone Giant provide some poetic justice for all those fiery kittens. or maybe have them get rid of each other, yeah?

also, i think this is the Betty White of Magic.

What? No one's going to comment on the fact that you can make a Green/White direct damage deck with the Supplicant?

Pump up a Shivan Dragon, swing for damage, then blow it up with her to finish them off. She also works with Echo creatues like Avalanche Riders - letting you squeeze extra damage out them if you're not paying the echo anyway.

There have been quite a few cards with artist teams. G. Darrow and I. Rabarot teamed up for a few older cards, and Greg and Tim Hildebrandt have illustrated some more modern ones.

As for the card, thanks to Longwinded, I can now no longer see anything other than her fashioning kitten grenades. That is one odd cleric ability, especially when combined with the more humanoid white creatures.

Captain: "Cleric! What is going on here? We keep sending the camp's injured to you, but not a single soldier has survived! What sort of healing powers do you have, anyway?"
Cleric: "Alas, their injuries were far too grevious. There was nothing I could do."
Captian: "Very well. Can we at least have the bodies to bury?"
Cleric: "They're with the forest now."
Captain: "What?"
Cleric: "I set them on fire and catapulted them into the woods."

Somethings's fishy about the artwork of all those innocent animals gathering around that graciously-looking lady once you take a look at her activated ability...do we have to assume she's actually juggling with her pets just before she'll recklessly flinging them at someone else?
Considering the two flying felines, i conclude this woman must be some severely deranged cat-lady!

@Brazz_Herald:
And there are enough hybrid creatures to make that direct damage deck mono-Green. Also Wild Mongrel, Kavu Chameleon, and Swirling Spriggan...

Classic card to get some extra use out of those high-power red attackers. Such a very odd flavour though. Utterly beautiful artwork, but it takes such a brain-wrenching turn when you try to fit it together with the mechanic.

Will always hold a special place in my heart anyway.

Swing with a Serra Avatar, then fling her with the Supplicant. That should smart a bit.
