This card wins games. It's amazing and has a pretty steep price tag for an uncommon, too.

A blue staple in our play groups.

Problem with this card in my opinion is, if you and both your opponent play multicolored decks, you won't remove all of his cards and posibly will have to remove yours. While you payed 4 mana, he will begin his next turn with all of his mana ready to throw his strongest permanents back at your head.

Also it's completely useless against artifact decks.

Still, returning not one or two but simply ALL permanents of one color is great cleaning and often fatal blow, so i give this card 3.5.

Compared to Upheaval, this one is less reliable, but in many situations better. While Upheaval is better to restart the battlefield, this one gives you chance to beat the living **** out of the other guy.

Skew:

Yes, you're right, this card is completely worthless against decks that don't play a large number of creatures of any one color. That's not exactly a massive risk.

There's also the fact that a heavily multicolor deck will probably be playing...multicolor creatures! All of which would totally be effected.

One of my friends used to irritate me with an all green elf deck. I used this as part of my deck to counter that deck. When used properly, this card is priceless =D

against mono-colored decks this card is a BALLER!

@Grim...
If i was going to use painters servant, i would go Hibernation any day. 1 less cc and instant for the same effect im going for.

@skew
That situation in your first paragraph is probably more rare then playing a tribal. Depends on your playgroup tho.

I think its a solid blue card myself. Has the odd chance of not hitting enough or hitting your things too, but most of the time your going to hose your opponent. Esp if your running mono blue or artifacts.

The real beauty of this card is that it doesn't target a player, so you could remove all white cards from the board even if they're playing Leyline of sanctity or something similar.

This card behaves like a Day of Judgment concerning tokens.

Another amazing thing about this card is that, in multiplayer games, it can possibly affect more than one player depending upon which color you choose.

Also, this card combo's well with Jace's Archivist as it will force them to re-work a new board that will most likely be worse than the last. and depending on how many cards you returned, you will draw an additional 3~5 cards (or maybe even more).
So basically, you get to screw an enemies board, screw their previous strat they've been building up, and draw a good amount of cards all for 5 mana. Sounds good to me.

This card has the potential to just win games, single and multiplayer. Blue and EDH staple.
