The weakest of the boons, saw very little play during its lifetime...and if so it was for the life gain, not for the prevention, since the COP's did a much better job for that...

It's an anti lightning bolt... just not as good, at all... unless you happen to have this and need to counteract a lightning bolt.

Unlike the giant growth, dark ritual or ancestral visions, this is flexible.

The effect is too weak. Maybe if the prevention effect could be divided amongst up to three targets, it could be a neat combat trick for White.

Let's all laugh at white! 3 colors get some of the most powerful cards ever made, the 4th still got an all-time staple, and white got a card that barely saw play. HA HA

Now if this did both at once, and they changed recall to "scry 3, draw a carD", we would have a successful and balanced boon cycle.

Because back in the day, Wizards R&D thought: 3 life = 3 damage = 3 cards = 3 power/toughness = 3 mana

@TheWrathofShane

They already (kind of) did that - Preordain. It's banned in modern.

Too often do I forget to buy these with my starting gold. I generally buy tangoes, some branches, some starting stats item or a ring of armor, and then - bam - I'm out of gold before getting around to buying one of these!

Yeah, it's a bad card, but can we just talk about those floating hands for a minute? What do they even need the salve for?

Not a great card, but at least it could keep your White Knight around after a lightning bolt. This was in the very first deck I owned and I took it out pretty quickly.

Also, the artwork is not great.
