I would much rather play stone rain.

Much better cards out there than this one. Of course, it does the job; it just doesn't do it well.

I think it does well enough. I'm sure you've Stone Rained or Pillaged a land only to have a better nonbasic land played a little down the road. Now, you just untap and lock up the better land. Even better that you can tie up four of their land, and only have to worry about destroying the 5th land if you're playing land destruction.

Not 1.75/5 bad; it's pretty much only slightly below par for "fair" black LD. It can swing for a point, too. And it's a worm.
