this card takes to long to do what it does. Terramorphic expanse is much better.

Why is this rated lower than Expanse? it's the SAME CARD

Strictly worse than TE on a flavour text basis. That's all that's different, and TE's is better.

Am I the only one who thinks it's kind of funny they put both this and Terramorphic Expanse in the decks?

@sonorhC: Both this and Terramorphic Expanse are in many of the Commander decks because it allows you to have more mana-fixing, due to only being able to have a single copy of each.

Is this card able to put Blood Crypt into play?

@Dadanman: Blood Crypt and other shocklands have basic land types but are not, in fact basic lands. Thus, the only card you can search for with this are forest, mountain, swamp. plains, and island, as well as their snow-covered variants. Their type lines start with, "Basic Land -- ", whereas Blood Crypt just has "Land -- Mountain Swamp".

As for the card, I like it. I play a lot of EDH where often colors are more important than amount of mana, especially in the early game, where the game goes pretty slow. Instead of having to fork over for Shadowmoor filter lands or whatever, I can use this common which is worse, but still gives pretty good fixing. As an added bonus, it filters your deck a little bit. I like the art a bit better than Terramorphic Expanse, but the flavor text is slightly worse.

A card that makes Sun Titan, Life from the Loam, Oracle Mul-Daya, Jace the Mind-sculptor, Sensei's Diving Top, Landfall, and Threshold better as well as being 5 color fixing without any other downside but coming into play tapped makes this a rather good card in some commander decks.
