Really good with Ghave. No creature for them, Ghave gets huge. Or just leave the army of tokens.

Terrible card. Horribly over-costed for its effect, Even with Ghave, Guru of Spores.
Eight mana to get rid of one single (hope it doesn't have shroud/hexproof), non-black, creature. Best case scenario you might get 5 or 6 tokens blowing up an enemy commander. 99 times out of 100 the eight mana you could produce on this card would be better spent winning you the game.
1.5/5
EDIT: Saying power or toughness instead of converted mana cost would have easily made this card ten times better and an auto-include in many saproling decks.

I hate that this costs 8 MANA! but once you get to play it I suppose it's good. but this could have easily been six mana.

It's weird.
The mana cost is excessive, but since it'll be later game, you'll be getting more sapros anyway.
I like this card a lot, though. Very nice inclusion.

It's an 8 CMC, dual color sorcery, and it still has a "non-black" clause. My, how times have changed. Wouldn't "non-artifact" have made more sense flavor-wise?

Wouldn't have minded if it weren't for that annoying nonblack clause.
Still, it's old. That's an excuse, or something. And nuking a big thing's no bad thing.

@Tonymitsu What.. the... ****.... How would this be an auto-include if it were based off power or toughness? Most of the time, creatures have less, or equal power and/or toughness compared to their mana cost.
This card is bad because it costs a crapton of mana, and isn't even that good. For the same amount of mana, you could have casted decree of pain instead. That cards would net you WAY more advantage, and would be useful in WAY more situations. If you're using ghave, you may as well have casted martial coup instead. Get lots of tokens anyway, and kill everything.

The concept was great and I like that you get saprolings but I really don't like the nonblack clause. Putrify, Maelsrom Pulse, solid cards that have little restrictions in the same colors. Death Mutation could easily have read "Destroy target creature ..." and it would have been okay. Oh well.
