This is updated from Mystic Veil and clearly outshines it.
I like these kind of cards as they are basically counterspells to targeted removal and seal the protected creature against further hate if the opponent has no immediate response.

The flash really sells it. "Counter target removal spell and your creature gains shroud"? Yes please!
Great stuff. Doubles as a counterspell of sort. A 3 CMC version that mixes this with Diplomatic Immunity would be nice, giving a shroud with shroud with flash.

I always loved this card back in the day. A fantastic counterspell that sticks around protecting your guys.
I love the way that after errata it's just got seven words of rules text! Compared to 22 in its printed wording!

It's technically strictly better than Mystic Veil, except for the times when it becomes sacrifices.

A perfect example of bad art marring a beautiful card. (Alan Rabinowitz does this often, unfortunately.) That being said, Alexi's Cloak is one of the finest auras in the game. I cringe when I see these played by beginners at sorcery speed...

I think this is better than Diplomatic Immunity. After all, if you counter the opponent's removal spell with this, is he/she really going to use removal on the cloak then use ANOTHER removal spell on the creature?
