I don't get why everyone thinks Terramorphic Expanse is better. The land that you get with the expanse comes into play tapped anyways.

The benefit to Evolving Wilds and Terramorphic Expanse is that you can drop it on your first turn, then immediately tap it and search for any basic land card, which comes into play tapped, and untaps on your following turn.

The benefit to this is that you can drop it, wait a turn, then search for any forest or plains (Including Dual Lands and Shocklands) and put them into play.

Personally, I'd just play Amulet of Vigor and get it over with. No point in wasting time!

In a GreenWhite deck, I'd prefer this over Evolving Wilds or Terramorphic Expanse because it allows you to draw before you sacrifice to bring in that untapped Forest or Plains. The new card you just drew could have an impact on which land type you decide to put onto the battlefield.

Let's say you play Grasslands with a Forest in hand; you would naturally assume that searching for a Plains is best. Then your next turn begins, and you draw that Plains. Now, because you already have your Plains, you may want to search for a Forest instead, allowing you to cast something like Garruk's Companion. With Wilds or Expanse you have less futuresight.

so,
pro - more informed decision
con - efficiency limited to GreenWhite

I hope Wizards plans on reprinting the three other Mirage fetch lands, scrubs like me love them!

I'd much rather have Windswept Heath, but this is actually balanced. 4.5/5

This cycle is awesome for budget EDH players.

Spent all your money on shocks/duals, or just using the ones you happen to already own? Now you don't need to shell out *** $40 a pop for the relevant fetches. Sure, these come into play tapped, but EDH is a slow format anyways.

Having to wait one more turn to fetch my shocks/duals is definitely worth the amount of cash I save by playing these.

There is no way evolving wilds or terramorphic expanse are better than these fetch lands, imho. Yes this ETBs tapped, but they fetch non-basics, which ETB untapped.

You would obviously not use this peticular fetch land if you didn't need green or white at all, but there was a full cycle of these cards in Mirage.

MrFluffyThing, as for your example, you can play this turn 1 as well, and then during your upkeep fetch the land. It would be just the same as a turn 1 wilds or expanse, except this lets you get much more vaulable dual lands.

CaptainBlue, the efficiency of this card is not limited to only GW decks. Since these can fetch dual lands (shock or original), you can run this in a deck the uses either g or w. Also, I repect your opinion about being able to draw a card first before choosing which land type you get, but personally I like to crack these before the draw. I am 1 card less likely to draw a land that way, thereby increasing my chances of drawing a nonland, which in most cases would be better than drawning another land. Not saying you are wrong, and I'm sure there are times where that play is 100% correct, but generally I like to thin my deck prior to drawing.

4/5 for me
