The gun is what gives this knight his extra awsomeness. Can't get rid of that.

Guns weren't taken out of magic because they are scary to people or anything. They were only in flavor in the location of Portal2, where they had access to primitive firearms.

Holy smokes, they left the old art on here. I felt certain they were going to replace it on account of the gun.
@Kryptnyt - They weren't removed due to being scary, no, but they've said on numerous occasions that they don't want to have certain anachronisms depicted on Magic cards, one of the biggest being guns.

This artwork is too good to change! Thanks goodness they didn't! Good card, just a hair too expensive it seems to me. But a solid 4.5 out of 5!

Despite the fact that guns aren't actually anachronistic at the tech level we see in magic.

Hah, a gun-toting Knight...
Oh Magic The Gathering, you so silly...

There is something tremendously bad-ass about a gun-toting knight!
This inspires me to make a post entitled "Alaborn Flintlock" on the YMTC forum.

Wizards worries about guns but pays little heed to some of the provocative artwork they have.....

@divine_exodus: I'm not sure I follow. They give a lot of heed to provocative artwork. They know what we want, and they give it! :D

@divine_exodus "Hey, you want to break into you dad's porn collection or gun cabinet?"
I don't understand modern censorship. Why allow the things that pose a physical threat (acts of extreme violence) yet flip the *** (thanks proving my point, Gatherer) out over a swear word or a bit of nudity on TV? Not saying TV creates real life violence or that censorship is a good thing, just trying to understand the whole hypocrisy.
@sir_dwar It really depends on the Plane. Like I could see some guns (like hunting rifles) on Innistrad as it seems like they would fit as it appears to be mimicking late 19th century Europe and especially in the Horror theme. Yet they only seem to use Bows and Crossbows. I could also see some form of guns being made on Ravnica, only magic based (And probably Izzet). I really think it is an (unofficial) policy of Wizards, not just an inconvenience of flavor. Whether that is good or bad is up for debate. And really, it doesn't effect the actually game much. It's mainly an artistic decision. We have Snipers, Cannons, hell I'm not even sure what this is...
