One of the less impressive soulbonders, but that +1/+1 boost is nothing to sneeze at in the early game. Try pairing her with Champion of Lambholt on turn 3, for instance.

Now you just have to ask yourself it having this be a 3/3 right out of the gate would have been too powerful or not. Otherwise, a conditional 3/3 for 2G just isn't going to cut it most of the time.

It's true that she isn't very impressive, but a below 3 rating seriously? That's just not fair. It's a 4 power creature for 3cmc, that's not bad, especially for a common. That's just talking about general magic play, in limited that extra power for it's cost really shines, since Avacyn Restored isn't really a set with lots of effectively costed creatures. - What I want to say is, don't be too harsh on cards. Yes you may have Baneslayers, yes you may have some Planeswalkers, but come on, decent cards like deserve some more recognition than a below 3 rating.

I actually like this gal better than Centaur Courser. The average creature size in a pauper cube is typically smaller than other Limited formats, so giving that extra +1/+1 to another creature is pretty significant. But I run both cards anyway. Courser is slightly better in more control-focused decks, and the Forcemage is slightly better in aggro.

Not a bad card by any means, just a little outclassed by Druid's Familiar. In a soulbond deck I would imagine she's actually a really good 3 drop, but otherwise I can't really see her in any constructed decks out there. It's a shame because I really like the art.
