Two common Alpha creatures were upgraded with this ability. War Mammoth got it for free; Giant Spider had to pay (because it was the Core Set Survivor).

So good in Limited. Getting a slightly more expensive Giant Spider is fine, but then you add the two counters, and holy crap!

Huge-ass giant spider, FTW. Plays remarkably well with Prey Upon. Use Prey Upon to eat a critter(or trade) and trigger the morbid, and once this guy is one the field and pumped, he can demolish most other creatures using Prey Upon.

Bad in limited because morbid is not easy to trigger. Unplayable anywhere else. Too overcosted.

Uncreative, it's basically bloodthirst all over again.

Wait? Have we made the green spider with reach yet?! - Maro.

I don't see why this has such a low rating. Giant Spider is four mana to play; this costs just one more, and if played at the right time, is potentially much stronger.
Sure, it's not a GREAT card, but it's still a very nice card.

I love guys like this in casual multiplayer - they keep all the hate off you without anyone bothering to remove them.
