This is one of the better specters. Normally opponents can prepare for an incoming specter, either in killing it at sorcery speed during their own turn, or simply playing the cards which they don't want to have discarded.
A specter with haste has a far higher chance of hitting your opponent, since your opponent doesn't have a chance to kill it with sorcery speed removal before he gets hit.

This is truely an amazing specter, perhaps it will be brought back in a new set sometime in the future, are you listening wizards?

Apparently it is, kind of, in the Bolas half of the Ajani vs. Nicol Bolas Duel Deck. It will be nice to see it with a new frame.

Im not sure whether or not I'd like this or Sedraxis Specter better in Bolas' deck. One thing's for sure, Ajani is going to kick the Bolas deck's butt all day long.


1) If they had made the Nicol Bolas deck RIGHT, Ajani wouldn't stand an effing GHOST of a chance. (with, like Force of Wills and Damnations and B.S. AMAZING cards like that xD)

2) Nicol Bolas can CLEARLY be seen studying at the Library of Alexandria in his original print. But that's on the Reserved and Banned and You're an *** if You Use This list. Obviously Bolas should get 4.

3) Seriously though, they really literally couldn't make a Bolas deck without blowout cards like Cruel Ultimatum and...Nicol Bolas himself.

4) So they gave Ajani a chance by completely screwing over Bolas in the creature dept., except for one copy each of this guy, Dimir Cutpurse, and Moroii.

5) Bolas' deck is STILL capable of beating the tar out of Ajani, even in its neutered form, because Lightning Helix doesn't have crap on Cruel Ultimatum and you can always decide to randomly turn into Gabriel Nassif in the middle of your match and just topdeck a game loss for your opponent o.o

Conclusion: Ajani vs. Bolas looks to be the best and worst of the Duel Decks line put together- the decks probably aren't balanced, and one deck is clearly being sabotaged with inferior picks (the overcosted blue-black split card), BUT!! It's going to be MADLY AWESOME to take apart Mr. B's deck and turn it into something TRULY TERRIFYING!!!! >:D

2/2 flying haste anticantrip is already pretty sweet, the fact that it'll repeat the effect every turn makes it very dangerous. Comes out at just the right time to hit their high drops, too.
