This card is alright in its own regard,
But when playing the Elspeth deck, most times I would rather have a Plains.

Playing this in a lifegain deck (with Ajani Goldmane, not Elspeth), it's working very well so far. Powers up Ajani's Pridemate, gets me closer to 25/30 life to power up other cards, all at no cost. The tap doesn't matter so much when that deck has a bunch of good 1-drops. It can be bad if you really need the mana, though.
