I try to explain to my brother who has these in his soldier deck that you want to play it at the end of my turn (its an instant) but he doesn't seem to realize that.

Not as good as Timely Reinforcements, but as an instant its usefullness is upgraded

if you play tokens.. I guess you have more creatures than a lot of opponents (all of then most of the times)
so this gives you more tokens so many times..I mean... in token decks you shold not want to wait until turn 3 to start.. do you?
and this came years before Timely Reinforcements so.. this have not to be as good as timely reinforcements.. but the reinforcements be as good as this (or better if you think so.. i certainly dont think)
