Expensive cost, plus conditional ability, plus random. MEH!

You are one of the top Woodland Sleuths in the forest. Solicitations for your service are numerous in quantity. Compensation, adequate. It is a balmy summer evening. You are feeling particularly hard boiled tonight.
What will you do?

"Hmm, I wonder how this werewolf died. I'll have to take samples..."

I had this in hand, waiting a bit until I got the chance to trigger the Morbid - then when I did, I realized that I had no creatures in my graveyard! pretty lackluster card - unless somehow you can really work it to your favor, I guess.

If only it weren't random. Then it would be fantastic.

A conditional wacky green Gravedigger

really didn't need to be random; in most cases a simple Gravedigger would be better.

Apparently you can tell a corpse is fresh in Innistrad, based on the fact it's still dead...

So, so egregiously bad compared to Eternal Witness. No, please don't defend the sleuth with Scooby-Doo references. It's just sad how in order to make Limited a format. . . we have to make cards that are just too ugly for Constructed. :<

Batman would make a much better sleuth....:(

It's a bigger Human gravedigger. In competitive environments, you generally won't have too many creatures in your graveyard at a given time.
Don't forget, this creature plays well with the burgeoning Human Tribal. Why certainly, I WILL grab an extra Elder Cathar from my graveyard.
Edit: She can tell the corpse is still fresh, presumably, because it's a werewolf that hasn't changed back into a human. Apparently that is a well-documented phenomenon.

@Gelzo: Retrieve your gun, there are dames to be rescued!
EDIT: @Kryptnyt: Try searching online for "Problem Sleuth". I was so excited to see that someone else had made the reference, though I was not surprised that it happened. =)
