A decent combination of defense and offensive power when you're in a creature-heavy game, especially when facing or wielding a weenie or token-heavy deck. Not great enough for every deck though. 3.5

Way better than what most people used to give it credit for.

@Micro_blaster: Thunderstaff's effect is cumulative, so yes, having two of these on the battlefield would prevent two damage.

Reminds me of Urza's Armor, doesn't prevent ALL that the Armor can prevent, but twice cheaper, and more versatile.
