Splashable firebreathing with Trample. Shame it has to cost 3 to throw down, but at least you can use it with the massive mana ramp not usually found in red.

Do not underestimate firebreathing evasive creatures.

Something to do while waiting for your werewolves to transform.

surprisingly good, the trample adds a lot, and if you can get a pitchfork to give it first strike he is a monster. you can pump him up to spend your mana on things other than spells, and unless he is killed by first strike or interrupted your opponent will take trample damage, perhaps a lot of it. very solid limited 3 drop that could win games if given an opening and sufficient mana. you will be happy to play him.

I totally underestimated this card. Originally I had thought to be rather poor, definitely worse than the Darkthicket Wolf and a little worse than the Kessig Wolf. After picking him late in a pack, I put him in my deck cause I was low on creatures, and it actually won me a couple of games. As has been mentioned, a very awesome way to spend a turn that you want to use to turn on your werewolves.

Love this little pup for Peasant decks, he totally outshines Fiery Hellhound; same CMC (but more splashable), more splashable firebreathing (2RR to give him +4/+0 as opposed to RRRR for the Hellhound), and most important of all, trample! Good doggy, into the Peasant Cube with you...

He doesn't look like much, but this card can deal a TON of damage. I one two games at the Launch party using this as my finisher.
Despite looking like crap, after 3 limited ISD games I'm comfortable 3rd picking this! It's really quite insane the levels of damage this can deal, and NOBODY EVER notices it has Trample! 4.5/5, my personal favorite common in the set (Sorry Delver of Secrets) in a set with amazing commons.

The +2/0 can be superior to +1/0. If your playing multicolor you can turn 2 mountains into "4 pumps"

how does one explain giving this wolf firebreathing? Why is this wolf's power naturally able to increase temporarily unlike other wolves?

2.5/5 only for an unexplained concept
