hah, I used this. 7 whap creature. or give a needy creature of yours flying. the casting cost is a bit high though.

once you get seven lands the predator will rain terror on your opponent. your creatures will thank you for it.

If it wasn't expensive it would be broken... it's nice being able to destroy creatures with any color you're playing, or even give your creatures wings... like a flying Krosan Cloudscrapper :-)

I'd wish it had an ability that could hurt non-flying creatures as the card art shows.
If you'll base it on the card art, it would go like "destroy target non-flying creature" or "x damage to target non-flying creature". But anyway, a colorless killer is always nice.

If I got hit by a cannon like that, my mangled body Would go flying into the air. The following blastwave is what will finish me off mid air. =P

Today, this would have been an Artifact Creature with Flying- probably at least 5/4, but maybe as much as 3/7 (yeah, I know those are kind of wierd choices for stats- I think they would either make it good at attacking or a tank beast, but not both)

@DarthParalax. I would much rather this be a noncreature. Creatures are much more fragile, and if they cannot deal with artifacts, this is lockdown at 7 mana.

Consider Altar of Shadows for all your creature-destruction-for-7 needs. Flagship's ability to levitate your creatures makes it more versatile. And this card's a lot of fun, flavor-wise.

ACTIVATE THE DEATH LASERS

ACTIVATE THE TRACTOR BEAMS

1st rare I got from nemesis back in the day. Still love this card, 5 cost colorless, repeatable, un-biased destroyer on most things I end up using it on.

This card is quite good in green decks especially, because it gives you direct creature removal, and the ability to give your creatures flight, both traditional weaknesses of the color. In addition to this, green can ramp like nobody's business, allowing you to reach 7 operational mana ahead of schedule. Colorless removal is quite potent, especially in decks that rely heavily on one color, and it bypasses pesky creatures with protection nicely. A fun card and one I would not be unhappy to see in a pack - especially in limited.

As I was looking at this, thinking about its uses, an amazing image popped into my head, which I now really want to see illustrated: The Predator, listing badly with a wing shorn off, lashed to Emrakul with harpoon cables, burning great big holes into its carapace using its deck cannons, seeing the tentacle/arms scrabbling over the deck snatching up moggs, with Greven tearing them off looking absolutely apoplectic.

eh playable repeatable removal will never be horrible in commander, even at 12 mana for your first kill, late game that isnt even hard,

I think the flavor of the flying ability is it shooting something, And causing a shockwave that launches it into the air.
