At 1 we would have been actually nice because of his tribe. But he's a 2/1 for 2 with a single usage ping.. Too bad.

Good for limited at common. Helps red deal with creatures like Ichorclaw Myr.

Sort of an Arc Trail on legs.
The flavour text disgusts me.

Almost always hit a plague stinger or ichorclaw myr at the pre-release. Not a bad option, but not a great one either.

Don't compare to Fire Imp - the imp can only hit creatures (and in fact actually has to shoot itself if there aren't any other creatures in play!).
A fairer comparison would be to Sparkmage Apprentice, Ghitu Slinger or Akoum Boulderfoot. (could also include Bogardan Hellkite and Inferno Titan in there, but why compare commons to mythics?) This guy is a two-power red creature for who has a shot at removing a 1-toughness utility creature, and if there are no good targets, he can at least ping your opponent once.
this killed two of my mana myrs at release, ugh. don't forget it gets rid of a plague stinger, etc. really good than what it gets credit for. 3.5/5

It's a little bomb in Limited, and can make quite a difference. Within the format, it kills a lot of creatures, and can swing nicely, specially with the red battlecriers.

I don't know how this isn't rated higher. In limited this guy is worth a ton - there's so many 1-toughness annoyances in this format, and then he sticks around to deal 2 damage to something in combat later.
Won't win you the game on his own, but removal-with-a-creature is a great combination in a limited environment.

What a succulent flavour text, my saucy little komquat!

This card is not merely good in limited; if it goes later than fifth-ish pick, feel free to take it as a signal that red is open. While clearly not as devastating as Arc Trail, it is almost always a two-for-one. Solid common.

You might be able to 2 for 1 someone with this in Limited.

It's not exciting in the face of other creatures tied to removal, but in-block it will kill the mana myr (Palladium Myr aside), a good number of the evasive infect creatures, and other annoyances like Vedalken Certarch, Spin Engine or Myrsmith. It's a very solid common, IMO.

It's bad in constructed, which it seems is what a lot of members use as a context for their ratings.
