Well, it costs the same as Wrath, so if you're on the play you can off your own creatures a turn before they do and then play the rest of yoru dudes out one at a time and force them to spend their mass removal on one guy at a time.
4/5 rating by me, for the great fun in tribal decks with Patriarch's Bidding. Besides that, it's pretty bad because of the Ellish Norn thing. Even though it's black. Cheap and very effective with rise-from-graveyard decks, like ZZombie tribal.

I like this one...just play creatures that can profitably be put into the graveyard like Sprouting Thrinax or Epochrasite.

I dont understand the rating of this card or the comments. Even if in some formats it would kill ur tempo etc, its still +2/+2 in black. Im an EDH player and for four mana, you can find many opportunities to play this in a game. If your opponents dont remove it its going to be a major thorn for them.
Also, the flavor is fitting, it even gives the +2/+2 mechanic flavor within black:)

Besides that, it's pretty bad because of the Ellish Norn thing. Even though it's black.
Cheap and very effective with rise-from-graveyard decks, like ZZombie tribal.
Also, Deranged Hermit. And Precursor Golem.
But it is a hard one to rate. If it allowed you to sacrifice X creatures or pay more mana for the effect, maybe...
Or maybe play this before or after playing Mitotic Slime.
