Whats that Sage Owl? You say you found 4 lands on top of the deck and you can't do anything about it? Ouch. Wish I could relate.

This is really nice. 2 cost flying chump and the ability to be even more useful later. Bottoming any lands when your manas fine and you need a finish is always welcome. This does that with extra utility.

In the early game with really efficient decks, one card is significant. Looking at the top 4 cards is a lot closer to actual tutoring than looking at the top 3 (though neither of the two actually are tutoring).
In a 70+ card deck with all basic land of multiple colors and some 2 or 3 card combos, Augury Owl is your guy, and it will someday put the top three 6 mana cost nonland cards on the bottom of your library so that you can draw into more land sooner.
For decks where almost every card is a usable card that doesn't rely on you drawing into something else and don't need a generous amount of mana, on a given turn it's not so much what you do and don't have as it is when you are going to play what you have/are going to draw into.
I heard from another more experienced player, "You know you have a good deck when no matter what card is on the bottom, if you see it there, you wish it weren't there so that you draw into it". (something like that) So I've noticed with Scry- it works wonders in my more tacky decks (like Horseshoe Crab), however I hardly put anything on the bottom when I Scry in a more streamlined deck.

Find three lands on the top with Augury Owl: "Phew, that was a close one. Scry to the bottom!" Find four lands on top with Sage Owl: "FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU--"
Seriously, I like this guy quite a bit better than his Sage brother. Sure, you don't get to see that fourth card, but in a deck where you're trying to dig, it's way too easy for Sage Owl to say "Sorry, you're screwed." Identical stats and cost seal the deal.

Sage owl is a cute little bird. This guy looks similar. But wait. Look closely into those telling eyes. He has seen things. Terrible, horrible things, things you only see at the brink of madness. That wizard can only be a bad, bad man. With a very, very comfortable shoulder plate.

Enchantment_Removal, I say that often (you probably heard it from somebody else, however). HOWEVER, that can also mean you have a really BAD deck, and that the bottom card is part of a combo that you require to win.

"I need four of this! Maybe eight..." Ha! Not me.
I need twelve.

@dudecow: They specifically said when they previewed this that scry isn't becoming evergreen, they're just considering using expansion keywords in occasional core sets now. Don't expect to see it coming back in M12 unless they change they're mind. Though I agree, I wish it was evergreen, and I'd love to see this as a permanent replacement over Sage Owl.

Only a foo wold prefer Sage Owl to this guy. Who cares about one extra card if you can rid yourself of those you don't want? If JacetMS wasn't in standard, I'd expect this to see some play.
Another card that spits in the face of its predecessor (Sage Owl).

hmm at first I liked sage owl better, but after playing with this guy for a little while I think I'm starting to change my mind...
Damn I love scry, best mechanic ever, as it actually requires skill, it's true blue when it's most fun and effective.

Early game, the Scry will help you get going a little better, and he's a decent early blocker (and attacker if they have no way to block or damage him).
Mid/Late game, Scry to see if there's anything that could save your butt or finish off the opponent near the top, and he can still sacrifice himself to protect you from a big non-trampler.
Very nice card. 5/5

I run four of these guys in my Quest For Ula's Temple deck. SO GOOD! Useful in pretty much any blue deck. I love scry. It's a great mechanic.

A 1/1 expendable Creature with Flying that lets you screw around with your next draws for {1}{U}? I like it!

Ya, on sage owl, who cares about selecting 1 of 4 top cards when you're gonna draw the other 3 anyway.

Strictly better than Sage Owl in my books. I said it. Don't criticize me about the "true" meaning of strictly better, i understand it etc. I'm just sayin I'd always play this over Sage Owl given the opportunity.

Looks like a replacement for Sage Owl. I guess all of the old archetype cards are slowly being replaced, no more Drudge Skeletons in M11 either.

Flying Men gets you a 1/1 flyer for U. This nifty little bird does the same, except you pay an extra 1 colorless to scry 3. Very efficient.

try this with not only Quest for Ulas Temple (obviously)... but also with a combo I just learned from a buddy... If you use evacuation... then Mnemonic wall... you can pick this guy back up over and over... Run with a reliquary tower... rinse & repeat while your opponents start discarding you can keep dropping your owl & a bonus from Ulas temple if you're lucky
prob my favorite blue card in 11. and i have baby jace and frost titan. the advantage of tearing through your top deck is undeniable whether its on turn two or late game when u need something to get ahead. cant count the times ive sent three useless-at-the-time lands late game to the bottom.

Definitely one of my top five favorite cards along with Phantasmal Bear. Too bad it cycled for standard. This, ponder, and scry gave me ridiculous card advantage.

This is definitely better than the Sage/Spire Owls. One thing nobody has mentioned is that this can dig just as deep by scrying the three cards on to the bottom of the library, thus touching the fourth card.
