Am i the only one that thinks that this card sounds much more like a reanimation spell than just a...well, "Raise Dead card"? o__o
Awesomesauce artwork, though.

What! They took away Vess's awesome quote from the flavor? How rude!

Everyone laughed at the Prerelease when they told us there was an errata for this card. In Spanish, they misprinted it as "Return target creature card from your graveyard to play." (Doesn't even say "battlefield")

@Shiny_Umbreon Same thing happened in the place i played the prerelease lol. Funniest and saddest thing of all is that there was a new guy who drafted three copies of it just to find out that it had errata. Got myself two copies just for the lulz :D

At least they could print the card with "return target creature from any graveyard to its owner's hand".

On constructed: Why would you want this, especially in an exile-heavy format, over an actual threat? Nope, won't see play.
On limited: Where Gravedigger provides always useful card advantage, this card kind of stinks. Don't pick it early, and only include it as a disatisfactory twenty-third card or in a deck with many bombs/Arc Runners. (Imagine that! Third turn Arc Runner, swing! Fourth turn, Disentomb, Arc Runner, swing! BAM!)

Nonsense. This card is raise dead. I always feel this irrational race of frustration when they reprint an old card (ESPECIALLY a classic old card) with a new name. I don't like it when MtG doesn't respect its own history, but perhaps I'm just an old head who loves his old cards.

I think in the unfortunate event that i was forced to play with this card, I would just announce "I'm playing Raise Dead targeting my ...." I've been boycotting the core sets ever since they started printing NEW cards in them. Seriously, the card pool is getting bloated way too fast and cards like this one (Disentomb, I mean) are just giving the old players a sour taste. And the new ones probably don't even care whether the card is named "Raise Dead" or "Disentomb", so keeping Raise Dead would have been fine.

I can't imagine what went into the design team's head with this one. What exactly was wrong with Raise Dead? The artwork and flavor text were better, much more menacing than the purple ghost and jokey flavor here. I can sort of understand what they were trying to do with Runeclaw Bear, even though I disagree with that decision, but this...?

I don't know why they didn't just reprint Raise Undead. They could have at least given this a slight difference in functionality, like putting it on top of your library or making it cost more or come out faster or really anything other than just using a new name and making new art.
I mean, it's cool looking and all but why can I essentially run 8x Raise Dead?

I think the reasoning behind this instead of raise dead is that Wizards is trying to be more consistent with the flavor of the game. Things in your hand you have the ability to create, they don't exist yet. "Raise dead" implies bringing a corpse to life, reanimating, but thats not its effect. This doesnt imply bringing anything to life, so its effect makes much more sense.
Sure, wizards has screwed up on flavor quite a bit (see omniscience and arcanis the omnipotent), but I cant fault them for making a functional reprint to try and fix the flavor of something.
