This guy actually comes off reasonably well compared to other creatures of its time; creatures tended to be horribly inefficient by modern standards in the game's early days. But it's still just a vanilla creature with power < CMC, and as such, awfully hard to get excited about.

I used to play with this a lot, especially when I had a mono black deck. It was my only decent defence against White Knight and other pesky creatures with Protection from Black. Not such a strong card anymore, though.
