I want to like it, but it's too expensive :(

bah, go on and like it. It will win you games in limited!

I don't really see anything wrong with it. If you end up with a bad hand with a lot of extra mana this can really pull it's weight. The fact that you can use it as an instant to leave open mana for a counterspell is wonderful, too.

It isn't competitive, sure, but there are different formats for a reason.

Let me think about it... ... ... it isn't worst trigon, but isn't too great too. Still, pretty playable in limited.

Great with Grand Architect helping to pay for it and it's recharge ability.

Apparently one of the playable trigons on slow formats like EDH...

Why doesn't this card cost 0 to play instead of 5? Draw 3 cards over 3 turns for 6 mana? Just about one of the worst card draw spells ever. At least at 0 cost it could see play in limited but lets be honest, it would never make constructed play.

ALL the draw cards in this set suck. I've been looking for a good one, but this looks like it's going to be a VERY slow block. This card is pretty decent compared to the other stuff. The only two substitutes are Viridian Revel and Culling Dais. Infiltration Lens is unreliable, but it can made to work if with an aura or two. Those are all horrible draw cards, but they're the most effective. Compare them to this.

4/5 One of the best draw cards in the set where card advantage is really hard to get.

One card for 7 mana... two cards for 9, or three cards for 11. Even at its best (the last draw), you're still paying 3.6 mana per draw. And then after that, you're paying an additional 4 for each draw. Putting a charge counter on it: four cards for 15 mana -- 3.75 mana per card, and each new charge put on it increases the average cost per card higher and higher toward 4 per card. That's brutally expensive.

I can't justify 11 mana for drawing 3 cards. I don't care how spread it is or the fact that you can do it at their end phase, its just not good.

@Jirikkii

I hope you're not saying that this is worse than Ember Shot. Sure, also seven mana, but a little more splashable and can be refilled.

March of the Machines makes everything better.

At first I didn't see anything wrong with it.

And then I saw it's CMC wasn't 2. It was 5.

Why isn't it 0 mana?

Because Wizards don't like to give every single colour a cheap card draw engine, that's why. Duh.

Could've been 4 cmc though.
