At first it doesn't seem as good as one would want.
Then multiplayer comes to mind,
And the new archenemy game takes this card and just says "Mine!"
Fairly solid card.

a bit undercosted considering you'd only use this in multi.

I think this may be m11's answer to breath of malfegor with the obvious changes to cost and color weight corresponding to it being sorcery. This seems like SO much fun :)
Question just to clarify: since the card doesn't say "Each opponent loses 3 life, and you gain 3 life", I assume that means you gain the total amount of life lost by all opponents? Say, if I were in a 4-person multiplayer and cast this, each of my three opponents would lose 3 life, and I'd gain a total of 9 life. Do I have that right? It'd play quite nicely with Howling Banshee for multiplayer if so.
On constructed: This is meant for multiplayer, and it'll never see the light of day in other formats.
On limited: If your deck is fast, this might make it as a disatisfactory twenty-third card, but otherwise, avoid this card. Board it in if both your deck and your opponent's deck are fast so you can win the race.

"WHAT IS A MAN?! A MISERABLE LITTLE PILE OF SECRETS."
You know that's what the thrown cup of blood made you think of.
Makes me want to make a Sanguine Bond multiplayer deck.

This card makes me wonder if Wizards knows what "tithe" means.

@storm: What, you don't play with 30 life to a player?

Does anyone know what the Crimson Throne referred to in the flavor text is? Because I don't, and think it may be hinting at Innistrad.

I don't really think the Crimson Throne is anything. Just a throwaway.

It's Lord Sorin's throne!
This and Syphon Soul should have additional card text that reads "Until end of game, opponents coordinate attacks against you, and target you or permanents you control with every nasty spell they have."
...It's actually quite a lot of fun to drop this in Commander and watch everyone gleefully tear you apart in response.

It affects all opponents, so it's very good in huge multiplayer games.

I tried to find an answer to this question elsewhere, but no luck. Hopefully someone here can help me out.
If you drop this in multiplayer, and one of your opponents is on 1 or 2 life and dies - do you miss out on any lifegain because they didn't have the full 3 life to lose? My playgroup and I couldn't quite come to an agreement on that.
Anyways, awesome card, although I think I may switch it out for Gray Merchant of Asphodel once Theros hits.

Yes. It's a slightly bigger Syphon Soul.
