Very fun next to Thawing Glaciers and brainstorm.
-Glaciers shuffles and gets you extra lands
-Brainstorm and this use those extra lands to become new cards.

I have a trinket mage deck that uses these, amulet of vigor, and Elixer of Immortality to generate continuous card advantage. Additional bonuses include that Elixer and Trinket also shuffle the library.

Used next to Armageddon you can also save your lands while generating card advantage, before considering all the lands you're blowing up elsewhere.

Mercadian Masques is one of the only sets in the game with more good commons than good rares. That's not to say that all of the rares in the set are bad, but it's still much different from the sets you mostly see nowadays.
