you know, it really would be fun to have that as a general. Rishadan Footpad, then return them to your hand with Ninjutsu cards, make a fun ninja/pirate deck.

6 mana, from two colors, for a 4/3 first strike? Not worth it. The art is neat, it's a g******n legendary pirate, and it's from an old set, but I'd want to see it costing 1BBU. Then it would easily be 5 stars; even a casting cost of 2BBU would be somewhat tolerable.

I guess it's cost isn't unjustifiable completely, because you get first strike in colors that don't normally have access to that kind of ability. The card is still complete crap, but that's worth noting.

Before i read the flavor text, i thought this was a gal.
Until now i didn't even notice Phil Foglio has already been around since Legends. Phil Foglio's unique style isn't so blatant in this one, instead it captures the apparently timeless flair of those very old cards in a special way. If it wasn't for him and his cool artwork, this card would probably have a derservedly worse rating. Because let's be honest, six mana (of which half of them require a certain color) for a legendary 4/3 first striker is pretty terrible.
Admittedly, he does beat Lord of Tresserhorn. If he can't regenerate, that is.
I'd like to see him back someday in the future. Name, artwork, and flavor text just make him appear so damn iconic despite the crappy stats.
