He is coolest Elder Dragon ever made. I wish him reprinted in some future look into Alara, i mean, all Elders are planeswalkers isnt it so? +6/+0 just by tapping three cards. Ravnica Golgari Rot Farm, Gruul Turf and Rakdos Carnarium. Ehm, that gives me an idea for EDH.

What horrible artwork, it's a legendary elder dragon, yet it looks like a frightened whelp, with no perspective for size at all.

Just to clarify: Elder is a creature type, and Dragon is a creature type, am I correct? I've never seen the "Elder" creature type on anything other than an Elder Dragon, the same way I've never seen the "Spawn" creature type on anything other than an Eldrazi Spawn.

Yes. There are several other creatures with the title of Elder (such as Elder of Laurels) but apparently only the Elder Dragons actually have it as a type. Funny enough, a few months after your comment was posted Elder Spawn was errata'd to become a Spawn for some strange reason. Also, Spawning Pit spawns (err, creates) Spawns.

He certainly has one of the coolest names for a dragon. But he doesn't have the same impact that Nicol Bolas has. You have to compare the 5 Elder dragons to each other because they were printed at the same time and they represented the best abilities of their colored pair. What you have with Vaevictis Asmodi is an atomic fireball. I just wish that instead of Firebreathing they would've given him Acid breathing ie : Vaevictis Asmodi deals X damage to each Creature target player controls.
I understand this is legends we are talking about but if the Elder dragons were here today they should be Mythic and a mythic needs to have the feeling that Whoomp!!!! the game is brought to a whole new level.

I actually find him better than Nicol Bolas, because it takes three hits with Nicol Bolas to kill some one in EDH, but assuming you didn't cheat him out, you'll have a 13/7 second turn with him out, and a 14/7 third turn (reaching 21 damage in two turns as apposed to three)
