Oh man, I remember this. It used to be the most feared creature around, many years ago.

The non-Bolas elder dragons were left behind in Legends-world for a reason, I'm afraid.

Even back then they gave the worst creatures the best art.

This is also terrible from a flavor perspective. Each of the Elder Dragons is a main color with two allied colors, and an ability that's supposed to reflect that color. So Nicol Bolas = Black = hand destruction. Vaevictis = Red = pumpable power. Palladia Mors = Green = trample. Arcades Sabboth = White = defense. Chromium = Blue = ...Rampage? Rampage is probably the most un-blue ability I can think of besides Haste.
Oh well, blue was ridiculously overpowered back then anyway.

Bleak... Color heavy and not at all flexible, and what's more he's in my color. He also shouldn't have rampage, that's green. I am offended as a blue player.
On a side note, he looks a lot like he's from Esper, he even has the coloring.

yeah its kinda weird even back then they gave esper colors artifact creatures because even though this isnt tagged as and artifact creature, we all know he is. i mean, just look at his name: CHROMium think of it, an legendary artifact creature- elder dragon

Poor Chromium, if only he'd had Shroud instead, he'd be the most feared Elder Dragon, color appropriate, and highly flavorful (with his metallic skin reflecting spells). Sigh...

My buddy made this his General in one of his EDH decks. So bad...but so lulzy. One game he had this guy equipped with Sword of Fire and Iceand Sword of Light and Shadow. Yes, Dual-Wielding Chromium coming at your face. It was possibly one of the greatest moments in my history with this game.

I love this card!
It's the only one of the Elder Dragons that can kill any of the others.
@Colossus_of_Darkstee: except for the fact that he is not an artifact creature, in-game or in-universe. Before you make comments like that do your research first. Here's a good place to start:

would have been preety neat if they made a ethierium verson of him.he could of had a back story jund dragon meet ethrium. that would be neat cause nicol bolas would have an old enemy to deal with Chromium, the recycled Anceint. a with better abilitys flying shroud trample when he deals damage you draw 4 cards

LAWL I was only 2 years old when rampage was a thing. This card, at least for me, represents Wizards not yet aware of how to make their own game. Chromium could have been the damn poster boy for shroud, which was actually around in 1994. It could have made him a force to be reckoned with like some of his bros. But no. Our chum chromium gets an ability which is absolutely useless 99.99% of the time unless he has trample. Which is in precisely none of his colors. This coupled with the fact that Wizards wasted the BLUE Elder Dragon is just sad. No wonder Bolas killed this poor guy.

@Land_comment He can't kill Arcades Sabboth, unless they throw in extra blockers for no reason. He trades off one-for-one for the others. Rampage only triggers for each blocker beyond the first. If they block with one creature he gets no bonus, if they block with 3 he gets +4/+4.

Should have been in From the Vault: Legends (because Bolas has already had enough prints.)
Don't make me list all the reasons why, it's painful to even think about. Even ANOTHER Bolas would have been appreciated as a historical nod to, you know, the set called LEGENDS and the cycle responsible for BIRTHING the EDH/Commander format!
Instead...we got Kresh. Who the hell is Kresh? some...guy. from Jund. Who's not Vaevictis Asmadi. So?
this guy would be better if the whole rampage bs was tossed and chromy got shroud and unblockable

Rampage? Did they even play test this?
Well if they had a swarm of flyers, you could swing without worrying about being double, or triple blocked. But then they could just chump block you long enough to draw an answer.

Completely random, even for its time period.
Rampage was new (and I still think it's a neat ability if used correctly, which it rarely was), but it has nothing to do with blue... and yet we have a blue elder dragon with Rampage?! It's rather useless on a huge flyer without trample, which is just sad. Too bad they didn't come up with some other neat blue ability, but other than flying, blue really had no neat creature abilities back then.

Chromium's flavor text should read, "I was born an Elder Dragon and all I got was Rampage: 2."

I hope they bring the other elder dragons back with much better stats - maybe as planeswalkers. And to anyone who says they're all dead: All of their "endings" (except Chromium's) are unsubstantiated. We only have the word of Nicol Bolas to go on and something tells me he is not above lying. As for Chromium: The others could revive him if they wanted to. His body supposedly still exists.

So thus, the best one. Not counting Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker.
