The colors don't even make any sense. Cat warriors are not a blue tribe in any way. I think they colored it just to fit the art.

Man, I hate Legends. It was one of Magic's worst, most nonsensical sets, and this card proves it. Why on earth would a ferocious cat warrior (even one who "forsook the forests") be even partially blue?! Oh well, I suppose they had to start somewhere. But this card... Is just awful.

I'm giving it a full star for the artwork, which I love. But functionally, this card is definitely not good.... its CC is insane for its power level.
But my U/W Legends deck will forever iive in infamy, and this guy was a part of it :D

artwork is great that is about it his planar chaos version is many times better, maybe if they had dropped the U in his cost, or given him vigilance, or first strike, some kinda ability, then he would be worth 3 or 4 stars, as he is, his dragoons from time spiral is even better, same cmc but a 2/5 with vigilance and you gain 4 life

It really says something about this card's badness when you see how much he changed for the planar chaos version compared to the others.

A player's opinion of Jedit is a pretty good notion of whether he was playing when Legends was around. At the time, this guy was awesome. He was a big tiger guy, a legend, and had a gold frame and everything. Every player after that looks back and realizes that this guy was pretty bad even for the era.

If nothing else. . . he's multicolored for Knight of New Alara, is a cat for Raksha Golden Cub, is power 5 or greater for various Naya themed cards in Shards of Alara block, has his cost reduced by Grand Arbiter Augustin IV, and being a legend counts for various nice cards from Kamigawa. He's like a balanced version of Storm Crow. That card is way OP.

Why are all the legends from the legends set so bad?
One of those Legends that so badly needs an ability to match the coolness of the flavor.
I sometimes wonder if they just ran out of time when making that set... Why make a set full of supposedly epic "Legends" that helped shape the game world, and then make so many of them boring, overcosted lumps that lack abilities. I can understand why they were overpriced - almost all creatures were back then - but how does "Amazing cat warrior" equal "blank text box 5/5 for 7 mana of two colors?!"
Heck, at least give him Plainswalk or something, as random as that would be.

When I first got into this game, it was because of cards as insanely overpowered as this. With all of the tricks around in the game these days, it's possible to consistently play cards like this by turn 4 with the likes of quicksilver amulet.
This bad boy has a presence when it hits the field that not even Storm Crow or Chimney Imp can match. When this guy hits the field its impossible not to stare at his beautiful mane blowing in the wind. The prowess that is a 5/5 creature for 7 mana - and it only takes 2 colours to get him onto the field if you hardcast.
The best part is, if you have Liquimetal Coating you can't even kill him with Go for the Throat.
If you have 2 x Heartless Summoning out you can drop this badboy by turn 4 as a 3/3 - Ouch!
This guy puts your opponent on a 4 turn clock, by turn 7 - be careful!
