As a "Build Around Me" Wrath variant, the Wave excels most in formats where you are able to pack your deck with creatures that have higher toughness than power, especially if those creatures have Lifelink. In a multiplayer format, where destroying lots of opposing creatures without wiping out your own, the Wave is a viable budget option with some strategic merit over the Wrath. Being five mana keeps the Wave from being competitive in duels.

Fits pretty comfortably in a Doran deck.

Soldiers were made for this card

Me and a buddy played his soldier deck with my spider deck, and between this and fog we ruled the board

Better than wrath in a defender deck.

This card says "Screw the rules, I make them!" And it does so very well. Obviously creatures with toughness greater than power are a must for this deck. Good combos include Repercussion and Doran, the Siege Tower. Lifelink is another theme you can work with. If your meta favors deathtouch and infect, this card is 100% awesomeness, killing anything with deathtouch and reducing anything with infect or wither's power to 0.

It is a bit pricey, but you expect a sweeper and bomb to be so pricy.

This is a very nice option and a decent reason to splash white in most any deck.

Try Castle. White has always been the one color that boost toughnes, so here is a card that can use that fact.

Suicide is wrong. But do it anyways.

One of the more amusing ways to deal with a Blightsteel Colossus - have it kill itself.

only a fool would play this as a suicide card unless you're going for Threshold or gy recursion. I play it as the sweeper in my soldier deck with Daru Warchief and Lashknife Barrier. My soldiers never commit suicide.

very underrated card with tons of combo potential. 4/5

Can easily be devastating if you build around it properly.
