I've always been a fan of this card. It's hard to find cheap red creatures with higher toughness. Sure it's a wall, but it's a scary one.

The card itself doesn't particularly grab me, but I must admit that the art is fantastic.

The new art is so much better than the usefulness of this card. It should have only cost RR.

I prefer Aether Membrane.

Quite useful since it will prevent your opponent from attacking with two or so small creatues early to soften you up.

Should be an elemental wall

The art is far more epic than the coloring-book look of the original.

Very nice. Often, it's easy to overlook that red is capable of defense as well as offense: this card not only stops early attackers cold, but unlike a lot of walls it will actually whittle them down one by one rather than just jumping in front of the biggest. I've been flirting with the idea of red control for a while now, and Wall of Fire would certainly be a good inclusion in such an... aberrant strategy.

I'd much rather use Wall of Lava any day. It may be less impressive at first, but the shade ability is much better on a wall than firebreathing.

Granted, I'd prefer this on turn three, and the aforementioned wall later in the game.

Compared to the old Storm Shaman, or the more recent Molten Ravager, this is quite weak. You have a defender with a "worse" mana cost only for +0/+1... I'd play one of them, if I need it...
However, I'm not sure if I would play Wall of Lava, like Serev said. When you play a wall at the 3rd turn, you need a great thoughness in order to block without problem, without spending mana that you need to play other spells... A 1/3 is too weak to block, so you have to spend mana every turn to use it.
