all i wanna say is I Like it... it is a 3/3 trample for 4 that just simply gets bigger by you casting spells. how can this ever not be good?

Eat your heart out War Mammoth. Huzzah for modern creature power level!

This guy is a bad man...a real brute. Combo with virtually any ally setup and watch him start wailing on people.

My minor issue with this is, look closely....

He's a Kor, not a human. *shrugs* details, details....

This is what I clone in my ally deck. He's always the first thing to die, which in my book means he's worth it. I kind of think of him like the Marines- first on the ground, high casualties, massive damage potential.

Hmm, no this guy is a human. That is a white beard on his chin, split into three braids. The other two kor allies I'm looking at (Ondu Cleric, Makindi Shieldmate) both have six or seven chin spike thingies.

For some reason I can't get past the notion that someone in RnD was really excited about this 'Ally' business. Maybe it's because the word shows up so many times on the card and the effect is so tasty.

Just another lame , but quite powerful card.
@ R&D: Just don't reprint a War Mammoth every edition with some random bonus features, Just alter a bit more than that. I hate to draft green, when I know that I have to look at this slot.... not a good way to honor me as a consumer.

This thing always gets killed by my friends in duels. They KNOW that given time, even if they have deathtouch vampires on their side, I have a trampling monster on mine.

Letting this guy stay on the field is a big mistake. If I drop two Akoum Battlesingers the turn after casting him, he becomes a 7/5 trample, or if I drop a Battlesinger and a Highland Berserker, a 7/5 trample first strike. He and Oran-Rief Survivalist are staples in any ally deck that runs green. Actually, now that I think of it, those two and that Elf guy who makes wolves are the only good green allies.

"Whenever Greypelt Hunter or another ally enters the battlefield, you may put a +1/+1 counter on Greypelt Hunter."

It doesn't address what happen when one of these subsequent allies LEAVES the battlefield, which leads me to believe that these counters stay. But where I live, everyone seems to think that those counters should be removed when allies are destroyed.. is this true?

I'm confused/curious.

Does this card's text mean that whenever he comes into play, he comes in as a 2/2 with a +1/+1 counter on him (so a 3/3) or just as a 2/2?

Additionally, if I were to play a second one, would their abilities affect each other so rather than getting +1/+1 they'd both get +2/+2?

Thanks.

If you fight against this guy, kill him before it is too late, he quickly gets insanely dangerous in an ally deck. Trample on an +1/+1 ally is just amazing!

@ Artifice101
Hes most certainly NOT a Kor thats just the way his beard is, and Kor have pure white skin, not caucasian, you silly.
Anyways, i run this card in a deck with like... 4 other allies, so he becomes strong FAST not to mention the trample (my favorite abillity.)

lordbug, when the other allies leave play the counters stay. If the bonus were to disappear when the others left, the ability would read 'gets +1/+1 for every other ally you control'. They stay - so tell your friends why as you trample them with this guy.

underestimated. beats chumps and if the deck is built right, you can run cmc 4s instead of trying to over extend and refill hands.

@ lordbug- what the hell are your friends smoking? counters stay on the field unless an effect directly removes them.

I have a quick question, could you shock this in response to the triggered ability? I was playing against an ally deck and he assured me I couldn't but I wasn't sure.
