Not an Eternal Witness, but an amiable black tool if you need to disentomb a creature.

Grab your beloved Chimney Imp in your imp tribal deck.

Yeah this is a great upgrade from Gravedigger. He's a cheaper costed flyer which is always good.

It IS an entirely better Gravedigger. And still a common! Nice.

An almost entirely better Gravedigger.
The two power will be missed, but flying is a very nice perk.

Plus its always nice to get a good imp every now and then.
Great art and text too.

Along the same lines of Man-o'-War - a Grizzly Bears plus an Unsummon - we've got this little guy, who combines a Bog Imp with a Raise Dead. Solid, useful common - 4/5 from me.

Wonder how many other oldies are rolled together like this?

I kinda still like Masouleum Turnkey better, but then again you kinda have to set up your deck in a way that doesn't allow the opponent to choose crappy creatures. Something about imps just rubs me the wrong way.

I wouldn't say he's better than gravedigger at all - not by a long shot. Consider double power and toughness, faaaar better creature type, less restrictive mana cost.

That said - another piece of the puzzle in an imp tribal.

@Kryptnyt, your comment makes me want to build an Imp tribal deck.

A flying, cheaper Gravedigger that can itself be recurred by Sun Titan. "Oh, you killed my Sun Titan? I'll play another, recur my Cadaver Imp, and then bring my just killed Titan back to my hand". It may not do enough on its own to see top tier play in standard, but it's definitely not the worst card to include in a deck.

Am I the only one who realized that the Imp is actually doing something "nice"? Just read the flavor text and look at the picture.

@ Grimjawx, and the mostly horrible or meh nature of the other imp cards banishes that thought

I pulled one in a pack and immediately bought a playset of them (for 40 cents... big spender, I know) but my Gravediggers will still be seeing play for their Zombie tribal.

Not entirely better. Gravedigger has one more power and toughness, is more splashable at 1 black mana requirement, and has a very relevant creature type.

I like Gravedigger more, because he's a zombie.
Last time I checked, there wasn't a thriving Imp tribe.

Not better than Gravedigger. But not worse: I'd say they are about even. The imp is cheaper, but has a more restrictive mana cost. Gravedigger has a bigger body, but lacks evasion. Of course, Gravedigger is also a zombie, so I guess it is more relevant than the imp. Oh well, guess I'll just wait for Wizards to print an imp lord.
