Well the skeleton lord grants deathtouch, so this guy is golden.

If the regeneration was cheaper it'd be GREAT.

Efficient and sexy in its day; however, this is yet another old card whose mechanics have not aged well.

Powercreep is powercreep, but this guy still has a huge cool factor going on. Skeletons are just cool in general, and the artwork is well beyond its time. Art like this would survive in today's world.

This card deserves 5 stars: - 3 for artwork - 1 for first strike - 1 for regeneration - 1 for balanced mana cost - -1 for synergy between first strike and regeneration total: 3+1+1+1+(-1)=5. :)

I'll give it 5 because I can.

Pretty solid creature for alliances. Yes, Death Baron grants him deathtouch, but if you're considering running him with Death Baron, Sanguine Guard would be better. For the same cost he has an extra point of toughness and the Zombie creature type, so he interacts with all the other Zombie tribal effects.
I love the art though. Anson Maddocks did a lot to define the flavor of black in the early expansions. For that he gets 3.5/5 ..

Pretty much strictly worse than Sanguine Guard, one less toughness and less relevant tribes.
